Brits abroad play at the Brewery Arts

IF you feel like an entertaining, light-hearted theatrical evening, Brewery Arts is the place to be on Saturday, March 12 when Re-form Theatre Company presents John Godber's play, April in Paris.

Bet and Al lead a quiet, humdrum life in their small Yorkshire home. After years of marriage, fed on Countdown and Coronation Street, Bet wins a Romantic Breaks competition to 'gay Paree.' Calais, croissants and culture await them on their trip across the North Sea.

Struggling to get to grips with French cuisine, wrestling with the phrase book and fending off would-be muggers on the Metro, all lie in store for them on their first trip abroad.

Will they return enlightened and charmed? Can they recapture their Joie de Vivre? Or will they return from foreign lands unconquered?

This hilarious depiction of the English abroad comes from the author of Bouncers, Up 'N Under and Thick As A Brick.

The show begins at 8pm. Tickets from the box office on 01285 655522.
