Folk favourites visit Cirencester

Malinky, one of the country 's most exciting folk bands will be playing at Brewery Arts tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm.

Malinky's striking vocals and song based repertoire, as well as its instrumental flair, define one of the most distinctive sounds to emerge from the Scottish folk scene over the last decade.

Roots magazine described the band's first CD, Last Leaves, as "one of the most memorable and refreshing debuts to have passed this way for a long time," and it remained in the top ten of the US Celtic Rock Chart for six months.

In 2002 Malinky released its CD Three Ravens and a new five-piece line-up for the band.

It maintains an acoustic approach to traditional and original Scots and Irish songs and tunes, while subtly enhancing their melodic and rhythmic power. Energy abounds in this marvellous musical treat.

Tickets from the box office on 01285 655522.
