MALMESBURY netballing ladies were victorious over Croft D in the Swindon and District Division 4 League on January 29.
Croft, a central Swindon team, had strong players, including their centre and goal attack, which proved a fair match against their rivals. Despite winning 27-16, the match was closely fought.
Leading from the start, the half- time the score was 23-13 to Malmesbury with Carly Sparrow picking up player of the match.
Jen Ryan made her debut for Malmesbury at goalkeeper and had a great match. Having lost only once this season, Malmesbury currently head the table.
Meanwhile, in the Wiltshire Moonraker Division 1, Malmesbury A team were beaten by Melksham Ladies on Thursday, January 27. In freezing conditions, the team tried to pull together against an experienced opposition.
But it seemed that Melksham were always going to to be the better team on the night. Jess Glossop had a good match at GA against an agile defence. Linzi Platt was voted player of the match.
The club trains at The Activity Zone, Malmesbury Leisure Centre, every Thursday at 7pm. New players are always welcome, please call 01285 885435 for more details.
