Silent movie show at St Peter's Church in Marlborough

CLASSIC slapstick humour set to live piano comes to St Peter's Church, Marlborough, courtesy of Riverbank arts centre project on Friday, February 11, 7.30 for 8pm.

Harold Lloyd's 1921 comedy, Never Weaken, and Buster Keaton's 1928 movie, Steamboat Bill Jr are presented as a double bill entitled The Silent Movie Show.

Composer and pianist James Harpham provides the live accompaniment and international sound designer Alistair Goolden is the projectionist.

It sounds like a real fun evening of the sort that our grandparents and great grandparents would have enjoyed.

The Riverbank is the name given to the proposed arts centre building by Kennet Valley Arts Trust, set up in 1996 to fund-raise for such a facility in Marlborough which currently has no arts centre or theatre of its own.

Public support has gone from strength to strength and patrons include Jools Holland, George Baker, Nigel Havers and Sir Terence Conran.

Meanwhile KVAT organise events in and around Marlborough. For more information visit www.riverbank.org.uk
