Cirencester and District Football League round-up

WINNERS of the Senior Charities Cup for the past two seasons, Taverners Reserves, went out in the first round of this season's competition to local rivals Eastcombe.

Elsewhere in the Cirencester and District Football League, Purton A took Oaksey all the way to penalties before bowing out. There were also wins for Bibury, CHQ United, Ashton Keynes and Fairford A.

In the Junior Cup, holders Lechlade squeezed through with a 1-0 win at Wanderers while favourites Bibury went through by the odd goal at Nympsfield.

CHQ Reserves, Stratton Utd, Kingshill, South Cerney Res and RDS also go through to the next round. Results are as follows:
