Quirky art at Cotswold Water Park

A QUIRKY three-dimensional art installation has been unveiled at the Gateway Centre in the Cotswold Water Park.

Artist and silversmith Cathy Miles, whose work is displayed at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, won the £4,000 first prize in a national competition last June to create a special piece of public artwork for the Gateway Centre.

Cotswold Water Park Society chief executive Tim Pain said: "Cathy is an exceptional artist.

Her three-dimensional artwork, made from stainless steel and copper and spanning three two-metre by one-metre panels, captures the essence of the Water Park's lakes, wildfowl and habitat.

"The Gateway Centre is in a superb natural setting, right by the side of a lake, and is ideally suited to showcase these special exhibits, which are now on display to the general public.

"We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible to the Gateway Centre to enjoy this unique experience."

The artwork was unveiled last month on the same day the woolly mammoth skull first went on public display at the centre.
