MOST of us had to watch the latest Rugby Union clash between England and the Aussies crammed into a local pub.
But one youngster from Farmor's School in Fairford didn't need satellite TV to catch the Twickenham game ... he was the team mascot.
England fan Alex Tubbs won a newspaper competition to lead out the national side on Saturday afternoon alongside his favourite player Jason Robinson.
To win the honour all the 11-year-old had to know was the final score of the 2003 England v Australia World Cup Final.
Unfortunately, instead of winning by a famous drop goal like last year, this time around it was England who were pipped at the post by a single kick.
Alex, who is a founding member of Fairford Rugby Club youth section and plays scrum-half, said: "It's was an annoying result but I think our kicker wasn't that good - we might have won if we had Jonny Wilkinson.
"It was very special walking out with Jason Robinson though."
The young rugby enthusiast also got to keep his replica England kit as a reminder of the day.
