RANGERS B moved into second place in the Cirencester Table Tennis League following two more victories.
They whitewashed their own A-side, with Bob Brown and Paul Gray in invincible form ,and then overtook struggling defending champions Chedworth by scoring a narrow win.
Brown was once again unbeaten while Gray secured one win. Meanwhile, Rangers A bounced back from a heavy defeat to beat bottom club Dingbats. Tom Szcerkowski was in fine form to win both his singles.
Dingbats were also convincingly beaten by Malmesbury when Gerald Joshua showed some of last season's form in recording a double.
Sheepscombe have slipped to fourth place due to two narrow defeats.
And Chedworth had Chris Jackson to thank for their win over Sheepscombe while Dave Carr produced a match-winning performance for The Late Ones.
Keith Wand maintained his 100 percent record as Chester marched on relentlessly.
But Late Ones were brushed aside with only Dave Carr putting up any resistance by beating Dave Gardiner, whilst Malmesbury were unable to record a single point against the league leaders.
League results for the past two weeks are as follows:
Week 7: Chedworth 3 (C Jackson), Sheepscombe 2; Rangers A 0, Rangers B 5 (B Brown, P Gray); Dingbats 1, Malmesbury 4 (G Joshua); Late Ones 1, Chester 4 (K Wand).
Week 8: Late Ones 3 (D Carr), Sheepscombe 2; Chester 5 (K Wand, D Gardiner), Malmesbury 0; Chedworth 2, Rangers B 3 (B Brown); Dingbats 2, Rangers A 3 (T Szcerkowski).
In the Stroud League, Cirencester B were defeated 8-2 by Thornbury who included a 14-year-old Welsh international player in their team.
John Ramsden and Andrew Jarvis recorded one victory each while Jarvis lost 11-9 in the final game to the young Welsh star.
