Teenager set to raise roof

SEVENTEEN-year-old pianist and singer Jack Mizzi is heading the bill at a charity Christmas concert next week.

The up and coming Cirencester star will be taking to the stage at Tewkesbury Abbey for the annual celebrations of The Pied Piper Appeal.

The event, on Wednesday (December 8), will also mark the opening of the new children's centre at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital after 12 years of fundraising.

Jack, who is a soprano and tenor, will be performing It Ain't Necessarily So, by George Gerswin, and Granada, by Augustin Lara, to help raise a further £600,000 for new equipment at the centre.

The teenager, who also enjoys singing anything from jazz to pop, went to King's School in Gloucester and is now taking a year out whilst auditioning for music colleges.

Jack is also an associate student on the London College of Music where he is completing a foundation course.

In between performances he teaches singing and vocal techniques to children and young adults.

Other talented singers taking to the stage include Tewkesbury Town Band, Abbey School Choir Churchdown Male Voice Choir and Aynsley Day.

Tickets can be obtained by calling the Pied Piper Appeal on 01452 394119.
