Cirencester and District Football League round-up

WHATEVER happens in the Mills-Roberts Cup this season, a new name will be put on the cup.

For the two teams - Bibury and Poulton - in the last eight to have lifted the cup in the past were both eliminated in the latest round on Saturday.

CHQ United, Siddington, South Cerney and Eastcombe will all be contesting the semi-finals next year.

The first three all had comfortable victories, but it took a penalty shoot-out for Eastcombe to see off Bibury. In Cirencester League matches, Fairford Town closed the gap on leaders Siddington to just two points after a 4-1 result against strugglers Corinium Sports while Ashton Keynes continued their recovery with a good win at Beeches.

In Division 2, both Wanderers and Lechlade were held to draws, thus failing to put much of a dent in Bibury Reserves lead.

Oakridge, however, lifted themselves off the bottom with a 5-1 humbling of CHQ United Reserves. Results are as follows:
