FORMER leading singers and songwriters with The Albion Band, Chris While and Julie Matthews continue to be a leading force on the UK's acoustic/roots circuit and they are coming to the Arts Centre in Swindon on Wednesday, November 10 at 8pm.
Their songs cover life as they see it, from the industrial wastelands of the north, to injustice and freedom, matters of the heart and all points between.
Chris and Julie were key players in the much acclaimed Daphne's Flight and are also founding members of Blue Tapestry, celebrating the music of Carole King and Joni Mitchell. Each Christmas they team up with Chris Leslie and David Hughes to become St Agnes Fountain, giving Christmas carols a breath of fresh air.
They have four albums and a songbook to their joint credit, as well as several solo albums, and have also written music for television and radio, including Tales From The Towpath for BBC Radio 2.
Between them, Chris and Julie play guitar, piano, bousouki, harmonica, mandolin, bodhran, banjo, dulcimer and percussion. It promises to be an evening of great acoustic music.
Tickets from the box office on 01793 614837.
