TV presenter's Armistice Day lecture

RICHARD Holmes is known to millions of viewers as the presenter of the television programmes War Walks, The Western Front, Battlefield and Wellington.

His book, Redcoat, is a runaway best seller and a new television series on the American War of Independence is in production.

His latest book, Tommy, is a brilliant study of the ordinary soldier of the Great War and is described by the author as the book he always wanted to write.

In this special Armistice Day lecture at Cirencester's Sundial Theatre, Professor Holmes reflects on the real meaning of the anniversary and focuses on conflicts throughout the world to the present day.
