CHRISTIAN Roberts grabbed his second goal in three matches on Saturday as Swindon Town secured a 2-2 draw at Oakwell, writes Ben Maggs.
The new boy from Bristol City swept home Grant Smith's cross eight minutes from time to rescue Andy King's men from a second successive away defeat.
Although the Robins had been 1-0 up through Sammy Igoe, Barnsley found a way back on 41 minutes, Michael Chopra being released and finding a gap in the Town defence to level matters just before half-time.
And the momentum was with the home side for much of the second half, and it came as no surprise when Paul Reid headed the Tykes into the lead on 66 minutes.
But their joy was short-lived as Roberts bagged Town's equaliser and with it a share of the afternoon's spoils.
After the game, the 25-year-old, who admitted that Town had created few chances, said:
"It was probably the first time we've got in behind them to be honest with you. Grant Smith's pulled it across and I've managed to get across the defender and got some sort of touch on it. Lucky for me it's gone in."
The point means Swindon remain in mid-table and Andy King's men really must improve if they are to challenge for promotion come the end of the season.
On Saturday, they play host to Torquay United, and there will be no excuses if the Robins fail to claim victory come five o'clock.
The Seagulls occupy 23rd position in the League and, despite their squad boasting the small yet skilful Jo Kuffour, they really should be easy bait for the proverbial big fish of League One, such as Swindon.
