Two tries from Rolls brings Cirencester 2nds a welcome victory

ON a visit to Cheltenham Civil Service, a mature Cirencester 3rds started well when full-back Rolls rolled over the line for the opening score, converted by Lee.

There followed a period of success for Service which saw them score two unconverted tries.

Town got back into it from a lineout on the home 22 when showing forward power under the guidance of guest scrum-half George Gregan and scored a forward's try from a driving maul.

Eventually, the converted try was credited to M Smith, P Rowley and S Meredith.

But relaxing too much at the break, allowed Civil Service to get back into the match with a score straight after half-time.

Having also lost the talismatic John Newman at half-time to injury, Town had to dig deep.

They responded with three unanswered scores. The first came courtesy of Pete Cannon via a driving maul to cross the line.

Then A Crouch ambled over from the half-way line before his try was followed by one from Rolls' on another blistering run and a 33-15 victory.
