Successful night at the opera

THE final night of Longborough Festival Opera's very successful 2004 season was attended by HE Thomas Matussek, ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Court of St James, and Frau Matussek.

The performance was of Gotterdammerung, the final opera of Wagner's Ring cycle which Longborough has revived for the last time in the present version.

In 2006 the company hopes to start presenting the complete version of the cycle, starting with the second opera, Die Walkure.

Next year at Longborough audiences will be able to see Puccini's La Boheme, Mozart's The Magic Flute and Hansel and Gretel by Humperdinck, and the season will run, as usual, from mid June to late July.
