Former world champion Colin McRae to star at Rally Supercar Day

TO celebrate his 2005 Dakar Rally contract with Nissan, former World Rally Champion Colin McRae will demonstrate both a Dakar-prepared Nissan Pickup and the incredible 150mph Nissan Micra R at the Rally Supercar Day at Castle Combe this Saturday.

Colin will also drive a McRae Motorsport Opel Corsa normally campaigned by reigning British Super 1600 Champion Kris Meeke, one of Colin's proteges.

In addition, Britain's most successful rally driver will be interviewed for the fans by TV personality Tony Mason.

Other star drivers at next week's event include Alister McRae, Daniel Sola, Pentti Airikkala, and Russ Swift - who will perform his precision driving skills with his son Paul.

Super 1600 National Rally Champion Andy Gwynne and the MG X-Power Xtreme Rally team will both offer rally car rides throughout the day.

Spectators will also get the chance to see high-speed demonstrations in a whole range of iconic rally cars, including Audi quattro, Ford Escort, Lancia Stratos, MG Metro 6R4, Sunbeam Lotus, Mitsubishis, Subarus, and much more.

Another of the day's highlights will be the all-new RAID on Castle Combe, starting at noon, with a spectacular display of Rally Raid bikes, quads, cars and trucks.

Admission to the event is just £10 per adult with accompanied children under 16 being allowed in free.
