INCLUDED in a number of races in last weekend's annual Classic Car Weekly Classic Raceday at Castle Combe was the Special GT Championship in which local driver David Krayem was expected to do well.
Having gained his first pole position of the year, the Tetbury ace blasted his Stealth B6 GT off the line to take a decisive lead ahead of a hard-chasing pack.
But just as his team were anticipated another win following a frustrating outing last time out when the car developed an engine problem, Krayem suddenly coasted to a halt.
He explained, "I felt that I had things well under control, until I noticed that the oil was getting unusually hot and didn't want to risk seizing the engine.
"We've since had a chance to check over the engine and everything seems fine. It's very frustrating, but I'll be back at Castle Combe on Bank Holiday Monday (August 30) looking for another victory."
