Families take the plunge in water park

ALL sorts of mini beasts and creepy-crawlies were the quarry when parents and children took part in a mini safari at Cokes Pit.

The nature reserve in the Cotswold Water Park near Somerford Keynes is buzzing with brightly-coloured butterflies and dragonflies and crawling with insects waiting to be discovered.

Youngsters joined park rangers to go on guided tours and take part in activites like pond dipping.

The event was one of hundreds taking place all over the country last week as part of National Local Nature Reserves week, English Nature's campaign to promote nature reserves as special places for people and wildlife alike.
