Anneka helps raise profile of hospital event

TELEVISION celebrity Anneka Rice was among guests at the annual Cirencester Hospital fete on Saturday.

The former star of cult Channel Four show Treasure Hunt and Challenge Anneka joined Lord and Lady Apsley at the event, which raised £4,000 for the hospital's league of friends.

The fete, as usual, also included a baby show and Cirencester Hospital Radio provided the entertainment.

League of Friends chairman Norman Whereat said: "I think it was the most successful fete we've ever had - a few people put in a lot of hard work."

Main sponsors of the event were local firms Alex Cars and Bridges Group.
