Don't miss Gifford's Circus- it's coming to Cirencester soon

GIFFORD'S Circus goes from strength to strength. Just when you think it can't be better than last year - it is.

The circus began its summer tour at a new venue in Cowley but its fame had gone before it and the crowds flocked into the not so Big Top.

We were treated to class acts from old favourites like slack rope walker Kwabana Lindsay, from dancer, acrobat and comedienne Isabelle Woywode, from vaulting champion Rebecca Townsend and her amazing Highland pony and from strong man Oleg Teplitski.

Miriam Kremers was there again to confound us with the communication that exists between her and her Friesian stallion Ids but this time Roger Trafford also demonstrated the Spanish discipline of Doma Vaquera with his palomino horse Caliente.

Tweedy the clown kept the audience laughing between acts and Luca Garcia was a particularly humorous frog. New acts by acrobats the Kenya Boys and springboard artists Ewelyn and Cristian Martinof had everybody gasping. The ducks and geese were also a new addition!

The whole show, of course, is held together by the energy, expertise and vision of Nell and Toti Gifford, by ringmaster Gerald Balding and by Peter Sen, this year joined by two new musicians.

There aren't many places to which you can go, taking with you children of any age, and enjoy a riveting, constantly diverting show, beautifully dressed and smoothly directed, but Gifford's is this very show.

Don't miss it whatever you do. It comes to Cirencester from June 17-21, so book your tickets now by telephoning the Everyman Theatre on 01242 572573.
