Ballet takes centre stage

NOW in its 19th year, Ballet Central is one of Britain's most popular touring dance companies and it's coming to The Bacon Theatre, Cheltenham on Tuesday, June 8 at 7.30pm.

This innovative company, which displays dancing styles ranging from classical to contemporary to jazz, was created by the late Northern Ballet theatre director Christopher Gable, as a springboard for young talented dancers to enter the professional dance world.

Through Ballet Central, students from the Central School of Ballet have an unparalleled preparation for professional employment by themselves touring as professional performing artists.

Graduates from the 2003 company have gone on to dance with companies including Northern Ballet Theatre, Hong Kong Ballet, Scottish Ballet, European Ballet, K Ballet, Adventures in Motion Pictures, the ensemble group and Ausinkobaletti.

The 2004 company which is made up of 30 dancers from the graduate year at Central School of Ballet, is touring their new and exciting programme throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Tickets from the box office on 01242 258002.
