Opera society to strike a chord with hit musical Oliver

CIRENCESTER Operatic Society's next production, the hit musical Oliver!, will be staged at the Barn Theatre, Beeches Road, Cirencester from June 8-12 at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.

For this show the adult members of the Society have been joined by approximately 30 local boys and girls in an age range from six to 14.

Isaac Archer, 11, and Dan Holley, 10, take on the role of Oliver and Louie Woodall, 14, plays the irrepressible Artful Dodger.

They are joined by Elizabeth Moss as Nancy, Simon Day as the evil Bill Sykes and Eric Atherton as the scheming Fagin.

Also joining the cast as Fagin's confidant is Artful Owl. Arty has been given a week's leave from his full time job of scaring pigeons from the church porch to give an undoubtedly 'wooden' performance in the show!

Tickets from Cirencester TIC, 01285 654180.
