THE sunshine led to a record breaking opening weekend for Cirencester's open air pool.
Tucked away on the edge of Cirencester Park in the shadow of Cecily Hill Barracks the Victorian pool has been enjoyed by locals for nearly 150 years.
Pool manager Gemma Smith said: "The glorious weather obviously helped to make last year the busiest on record, but this year we also saw queues of people wishing to buy season tickets.
"It's great to see the local people supporting such a fantastic leisure resource."
The charitable trust that runs the pool is made up entirely of volunteers.
Vice-chairman George Brazier said: "The pool takes a lot of upkeep and there are a few more things we would like to do to make it even better than it is, but at the moment it's great to see people of all ages enjoying the pool."
The pool is open seven days a week: Monday to Friday, 8am to 7pm, Saturday 9am to 6pm and Sunday 11am to 6pm.
Family season tickets are available.
