New gates are praised

BEAUTIFULLY crafted new gates now welcome visitors to St Saviour's Church, Tetbury.

A ceremony in New Church Street was held by Rev John Wright to inaugurate the gates, attended by town mayor Marlene Ash, craftsman and Andrew Pike from the Churches Conservation Trust.

Funds for the £3,200 project, came from Cotswold District Council and Tetbury Town Council. A sum of £1,100 was also contributed by parishioners, organised by Larry Freeman.

The gates were crafted by local firms Lee Cooper Tetbury Ltd and Hennessy Joinery.

St Saviour's is currently a redundant church, used occasionally for services.
