CIRENCESTER Hockey Club will be looking to make history this weekend by winning the final of the Hockey Association Vase.
This Sunday's final, which is against Eastbourne, kicks off at Harleston Magpies Hockey Club, Weybread, Diss, Norfolk, at 5pm.
Both combatants had a bye in the first two rounds and both have beaten four teams on their way to the final.
Out of the 128 clubs nationwide that originally entered this competition, it now comes down to last two and promises to be a close game.
Cirencester have taken their last two games to the wire, going through on 'golden goals' scored by skipper John Tasker and then Simon Dicker in the semi-final.
In contrast, Eastbourne have demonstrated their scoring capability by despatching 27 goals in all, including 15 goals against Ramgarhia of Derby.
But Cirencester, too, have demonstrated the art of scoring with a total of 21 goals, including seven that they put past last year's finalists, Old Bordenians.
The club's main sponsor, Mitsubishi Motors, is laying on transport for the squad.
However, for any spectators wanting to go along and offer support, there will be a selection of cars departing from Mitsubishi on Sunday morning at 10.30.
Anyone who would like to be included, please contact Nicki Gray, John Tasker or Ann Hart.
