Another success for Barnsley

A PARADE of colours greeted visitors to Barnsley Village Festival at the weekend.

Residents opened their gardens to the public and organised a number of musical attractions to mark the 16th annual event.

Bands entertained the crowds at the Village Pub while visitors to the church admired colourful flower arrangements and listened to bell-ringing, organ recitals and singing.

Other attractions included a plant stall, barbecue, home-made cakes in the village hall, maypole dancing and a classic motorbike display.

The gardens of Oxwold House, Barnsley Park, and Barnsley House, plus Musgrave Arboretum, were also open to the public.
