Folk band perform on Friday

FOLK band Dr Faustus were nominated for the Horizon award at the 2004 BBC Folk Music Awards and are being hailed as the most exciting band to play English music in years.

Tim van Eyken, Robert Harbron, Benji Kirkpatrick and Paul Sartin joined forces five years ago to explore their love of traditional folk music.

At that time, members' commitment to other projects made Dr Faustus performances something of a rarity, while their profile as individuals soared.

Prema is delighted to bring them together on Friday, May 14, at 8pm, for a rare opportunity to hear them perform familiar songs for melodeon, concertina, oboe, fiddle, mandolin and guitar with not one, but four strong vocalists.

Dr Faustus is leading the way in an enthusiastic new wave of young artists injecting drive and passion into the native music of England, so now's the chance for people to see - and hear - for themselves.

Tickets from the box office 01453 860703. Uley is on the B4066 between Dursley and Stroud.
