THE majority of Winter League members attended Cirencester Golf Club's annual dinner and prizegiving, held at the club last Friday.
After an excellent dinner, the presentations were made by the club captain, John Parsons.
Many runners-up prizes were awarded on the night, but the worthy winners of the first division were Bob Mills and John Davies, who remained unbeaten throughout the season.
Winter Fourball organiser Trevor Hing rounded off proceedings in his usual style and members thank him for his continued hard work and enthusiasm.
The April Juniors Medal, on the 13th, saw a field of 14 aspiring youngsters competing in their first medal of 2004 at Cirencester.
Good scores were recorded and, as a result, a number of handicaps have been reviewed.
Winner of the tournament was ten-year-old James Collingwood, who played on a junior handicap of 30 to a gross 93 (net 63).
He was closely followed by Michael Rogers (handicap 24, net 63) who lost out on countback.
The Juniors Team succeeded in winning a point by halving their match at Lilley Brook.
The Juniors are enjoying their golf this year with organised coaching programmes devised to improve the quality of their golf and earn their Golf Passports.
Next programme for these coaching lessons is due to run from May 12.
Any young golfer wishing to join this club and become an Academy member can contact the general manager on 01285 652465 for more details.
