Local star Cullum all set to drive for Boulevard Team Racing

FOLLOWING a successful first season in the Renault Clio Cup Championship, local driver Rob Cullum, from Quenington, has been signed by front running Boulevard Team Racing for their 2004 campaign.

Boulevard almost won the Championship in 2003 and their team leader, who moved directly to the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) near the end of the season, is one of the favourites for success this year.

Cullum is delighted to have joined one of the top teams in the series so he can progress further in his aim to become one of the UK's top saloon car drivers and earn a drive in the BTCC.

The other good news is that a number of local companies will again be involved in his racing programme.

Cirencester-based Acoustic Energy, along with associated companies Fujitsu Plasmavision and Alphason Designs, will have guests joining Cullum and the race team at most meetings.

And they will be able to witness the excitement of the UK's top saloon car racing from the inside.

With a deal with the new team completed only last week, Cullum has still to finalise discussions with a number of other local companies.

The Clio Cup will continue to be part of the British Touring Car Championship package during 2004, and the 20-race series commences at local circuit Thruxton this Sunday.
