The Play What I Wrote comes to the Everyman Theatre

FOLLOWING two triumphant sell-out runs in London's West End, audiences in Cheltenham will be able to sample a delightful double dose of sunshine and laughter when The Play What I Wrote comes to the Everyman Theatre from Monday to Saturday, April 19-24.

Kenneth Branagh originally directed this multi-award winning celebration of Britain's greatest comedy double act - Morcambe and Wise. When it opened in London every show was a sell-out and it won every major theatre award.

The Play What I Wrote stars Joseph Alessi, Ben Keaton and Toby Sedgewick (plus a surprise celebrity guest). Ben has written an epic play set in the French Revolution and he wants to see it performed.

Joe would rather they continue with their double act, even though they haven't worked for two years. He believes that if they perform a tribute to Morcambe and Wise, Ben's confidence will be restored and the double act will go on. But first Joe needs to persuade a guest star to appear in the play what Ben wrote.

The Play What I Wrote is the only show with a surprise celebrity guest at every performance. So far these have included Roger Moor, Ewen McGregor, Liam Neeson, Glenn Close, Kylie Minogue and Sting.

The identities of who will appear at the Everyman are a closely guarded secret.

The play is written by Eric and Ernie's greatest scriptwriter, Eddie Braben, who worked with them for 14 years, winning five Writer of the Year awards and a BAFTA.

Tickets from the box office on 01242 572573.
