COUPLES planning their big day could unearth a real bargain while raising funds for charity by visiting a wedding fayre at Cancer Research UK's Cirencester shop.

The Castle Street branch has 50 to 60 wedding dresses, a selection of bridesmaid dresses, dinner jackets and evening suits on offer during a two-week Wedding Fayre, starting on May 8.

The charity hopes to raise as much as £8,000 for cancer research, according to the shop's manager Rebecca Spenser-Underhill.

She said: "With our wedding collection a bride can purchase a truly beautiful dress at the fraction of the retail price.

"So for all you brides to be this is an opportunity to save a huge amount and still look stunning."

The dresses include designer labels such as Confetti and Lace, Ellis Bridal and Victoria Jane by Ronald Price. Two of them are worth £1,000.

Local businesses will offer their services for free on the opening day, including two stylists from Bernard Griffiths hairdressers and make-up artist Helen Grosscurth who will offer free make-overs.

A raffle, including eight day tickets for Le Spa health suite, will also be held.

More volunteers are needed for the day, anyone interested should contact Rebecca Spenser-Underhill on 01285 642022.
