Classic Children's Tale at the Everyman

WHY not take the whole family to Cheltenham's Everyman Theatre this Easter for a story with humour, excitement and a little bit of magic?

Charlotte's Web will be spinning its magical tale from Tuesday to Saturday, April 6-10, though there is no performance on Good Friday, April 9.

Charlotte's a spider. Wilbur's a pig. They live in a barn at the Zuckerman's farm, along with all the other animals.

They can talk, naturally. But what makes Charlotte special is that she's a spider who can write.

Wilbur is happy at the Zuckerman's - until he discovers they're fattening him up for the dinner table.

He enlists Charlotte's amazing writing talent to save his bacon.

She spins a web that reads, "Some Pig," to try to convince the farmer and the surrounding community that Wilbur is no ordinary animal and should be saved.

As the going gets tough Wilbur learns about love and friendship and bravery - and he and Charlotte win a great victory.

As well as Charlotte and Wilbur, the play introduces their friends of all shapes and sizes, including the Goose, the Ram, Templeton the rat and Jeffrey the gosling in this tale that anyone will love, but especially people aged five and upwards!

E B White's story, despite a sad moment or two, is a very joyful tale which reminds us to open our eyes to the wonder and miracle often found in the simplest of things.

The author's other classic for children, Stuart Little, was recently made into a highly acclaimed film.
