Fast rising tae kwon--do start Rosie Cox takes gold at Bristol

FAST rising tae kwon-do star Rosie Cox, from Cirencester, won gold in the sparring division in her very first major tournament.

The 14-year-old was one of a number of local enthusiasts competing in the annual TAGB Tae Kwon-Do England championships at Whitchurch Leisure Centre, Bristol, on March 14, in an event that attracted over 1000 competitors.

Results achieved under their Cirencester instructor, Andrew Tombling, are as follows: Rosie Cox (gold, green belt girls' heavyweight sparring) and David Rigsby (bronze, blue/red belt cadet male heavyweight sparring).

Among the other club members competing were Ben Williams, Francis Reardon, Zoey Jones, Stephanie Buggins, Rory Grant, Jack Millar, Michael Reardon, Paul Hickey, Danielle Rollings, Paul Adkins and Brad Tombling.

Competitors from the Wiltshire district, that included the Cricklade/ Wroughton section under instructor Victoria Orchard, were Matthew Gowshall, Emily Greenwood, Roger Greenwood and Victoria Orchard.

And representing the Malmesbury district, under instructor Mrs J Tombling, were Chris Dawson (silver, blue/red belt cadet male lightweight sparring), Andrew Clifton and Ellie Hawkins.
