DESPITE her advancing years, Clare Hall's passion for the game of golf remains undiminished.
And after the ladies' section of Cirencester Golf Club had played a Thursday medal last week, a celebratory tea was held to mark her 95th birthday.
In fact, Clare played in the medal with the lady captain and scored a nett 73 on a 31 handicap, including a birdie on the eighth hole!
She had treated herself to a new Callaway 3 wood as a birthday gift and was presented with a congratulatory letter from Callaway along with one of their goodie bags.
She received flowers from the club directors as well as from the ladies' section.
Eleven of the club's most senior lady members sat at the top table for tea and their combined ages added up to 863! With the exception of one, they are all still playing.
The first qualifying competition of the year for the ladies was held on Saturday, February 28, and Thursday, March 4.
Six women played on the Saturday in a bitter wind while the 38 who ventured out on the Thursday were blessed with a much warmer day. Results as follows:
In Division 1: 1 Barbara Chesworth (gross 89-19 nett 70), runner-up Liz Ferries 93-20-73. Division 2: 1 Deborah Mac-Donald 89-24-65, r/up Helen Landau 91-21-70. Four ladies reduced their handicaps
