Malmesbury's dedicated tae kwon-do students get their due reward

MALMESBURY Tae Kwon-Do devotees, who were among 500 competitors at the recent West of England Championships in Salisbury, returned triumphant.

For a number of these dedicated students, who have been training hard over the past few months in the town's Activity Zone on Saturday 10-11am and on a Monday 8-9pm, it was their first tournament.

Having expressed an interest in becoming competitive in the ever-growing sport of Tae Kwon-Do, they have performed well to achieve their status.

Malmesbury Tae Kwon-Do School is a member of the Tae Kwon-Do Association, of Great Britain, which is currently the largest group of its kind in Europe.

School instructor Jackie Tombling (2nd degree black belt) is absolutely delighted and proud of all the students and the fact that they have worked so hard to achieve this success.

Mrs Tombling and the Malmesbury school congratulate Chris Dawson on receiving his Student of the Year 2003 award.

Not pictured is Bethany Bareham who was awarded the Junior student of the year 2003 award, which was presented to her by senior instructor Andrew Tombling (4th degree black belt).

Both Malmesbury school instructors are now looking forward to the English Championships in Bristol on March 14.
