MORE Tea, Vicar? which comes to Rodmarton Village Hall on Saturday, March 20 at 7.30pm, is described as a frolic through Betjeman's England with the songs and satire of Noel Coward, Joyce Grenfell, Ivor Novello and other great English songsmiths.
Devised by Gerald Hagan it stars Susan Flannery, whose musical career includes opera, musicals, films and television, and distinguished pianist/actor/composer Michael Lunts, who is no stranger to the Cirencester area where he has performed his one man shows on Chopin, Schubert and Rachmaninov.
More Tea, Vicar? is an intimate revue which explores the eccentric world of Middle England through its arch observer John Betjeman whose much-loved poetry here stands shoulder to shoulder with the songs and satire of some of the sharpest of his musical contemporaries.
It presents a world that no longer exists, but why not enjoy a nostalgic evening of tennis matches, horse trials, cucumber sandwiches on the lawn and cricket on the green, where a nice cup of tea is never far away?
The evening is in aid of the Rodmarton and Tarlton Children's Charity collecting for the Seven Springs Foundation Hop, Skip and Jump Respite Centre.
