Rag week scavenger hunt - uncut!

THESE are the pictures they didn't think you'd see. But, thanks to the joys of modern technology, the Standard can show you exactly what a group of students got up to as they took off across Europe to raise money for charity.

A number of teams entered a scavenger hunt as part of the Royal Agricultural College's annual Rag week celebrations.

And, thanks to the support of the Standard and local firms Mitsubishi and MH Ingram, the winners made it all the way into Germany and back within 24 hours.

But, as well as bringing back smelly cheeses from France and a real Christmas tree to earn points, we can reveal the full extent of what the team got up to - not for publication in a family newspaper!

During their challenge they visited an exotic dancing club, bought a stash of pornography and posed for pictures with bags of cannabis in an Amsterdam coffee shop.

One member even managed to get arrested by police at the entrance to the Channel Tunnel during a publicity stunt to gain more points.

Team member Stephen Edwards said: "It was a great laugh - the best 24 hour holiday any of us have had. It was a bit like Challenge Aneka when we were tearing around Amsterdam.

"We'd like to say a big thank you to Mitsubishi, MH Ingram and everyone else who helped out."

The winning team raised around £400 for the Rag coffers, which this year will go towards buying the Gloucestershire Council for Volunteers a specially adapted car, which families with disabled members can use.

Other events during the week included a tractor pull through Cirencester, a fashion show, a charity ball and an auction, which included a holiday to the Dominican Republic.

Rag chairman Ed Walker said: "It was fantastic. We've had a lot of support from the students and the local community.

"Apparently, the Rag auction was the best in 35 years."
