Guitar gig in aid of Amnesty

ON Saturday, February 7 at 7.30pm guitarists Raymond Burley and Nick Morrow Brown will be performing music by Dowland, Telemann, Bach, Granados, Duarte and Villa Lobos at Brewery Arts, Cirencester.

This will be the third recital they have given together in aid of Amnesty International.

As a soloist Raymond, who is a professional player and teacher, has toured in the UK, Europe and America.

He has appeared many times at the Wigmore Hall and Purcell Rooms and has worked with several of England's finest orchestras.

He has numerous recordings to his credit and composers such as Stephen Dodgson, Bernard Stevens and the late Dudley Moore have written works for him. In the last few years he has formed a duo with seventies steel string guitarist Gordon Giltrap.

Nick has been an enthusiastic part-time guitarist for 30 years and has lived in Cirencester for the last 18. He works as a solicitor in Cheltenham and met Ray when he was looking for advanced guitar tuition.

The pair have performed in aid of the Indian Earthquake Appeal as well as Amnesty International.

Tickets from the box office on 01285 655522.
