Make a date with Kate and mates

THE Kate Rusby Trio - Kate Rusby, John McCusker and Andy Cutting are appearing at Cheltenham Town Hall on Saturday, February 7 as part of the Cheltenham Folk Festival.

Kate has earned a just reputation as a superb, if sometimes eccentric, live performer, having audiences in fits of laughter before wowing them with her tender voice and colourful repertoire of ballads about sex, murder and religion.

She used to perform alone, shielded only by the guitar which always looked several sizes too big for her, but now she plays with her own regular coterie of musicians who provide many more shades to the dramatic tales she takes such delight in performing.

This time she is joined by John McCusker, voted BBC Radio 2 Musician of the year and a former member of the legendary Battlefield Band, on the fiddle, and ground breaking melodeon player Andy Cutting for an evening's entertainment not to be missed.

Tickets from the box office on 01242 227979.
