One draw and a defeat for the Malmesbury netball team

FOR last Saturday's Swindon League fixture, Malmesbury Netball Club took on a Park C team based at the Dorcan in Swindon.

Despite the freezing cold conditions, Malmesbury put up a good battle for the whole match, leading after each of the first three quarters.

Kathryn Porter (GA) had a good game, particularly as it was the first time she had played in this position.

Unfortunately, however, Park C pulled back in the final quarter with a run of successive goals and won by 36-29.

Olivia Williams (GS) was voted player of the match for Malmesbury.

On Sunday January 18, Malmesbury A team played Westbury A.

In another very close encounter, Malmesbury were leading at the end of each of the first three quarters.

Rachael Towl (GS) had an excellent game and shot well under tense circumstances.

Westbury, however, picked up their game during the final quarter and closed the gap to draw level.

After remaining very close for the last few minutes, with both sides scoring one after another, the final whistle went and the score remained a draw at 30 goals apiece.

Both Rachael Towl (GS) and Zoe Ward (GA and captain) were voted as Malmesbury players of the match.
