Academy's Thomas Cole is selected for the English Colleges

THOMAS Cole, who is the captain of both Cirencester College and Cirencester youth teams, has been selected to represent the English Colleges for the coming season.

The 18-year-old has led the College side into the last 16 of the ESFA Under 18 Colleges' trophy and Cirencester youth team into the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.

And the team is, in fact, set to entertain Crewe Alexandra at the Corinium Stadium on Wednesday, January 28, 7pm ko.

Cole's first match for the English Colleges team will be against the Northern Ireland Youth team at Lilleshall on Sunday, January 11.

He will also be involved in February against the Welsh Colleges and against the English Universities XI in March.

The squad will be undertaking a tour to Atlanta and South Carolina from March 19-26 and are hopeful of an invitation to a European Youth Tournament in Italy in early June.

Commenting on Cole's selection, Cirencester College Academy coach Steve Lowndes said:

"I am absolutely delighted for Tom: the team are having an exceptional time at the moment and this is well deserved recognition for him."
