THE monster 650bhp 200-plus mph Chevrolet-powered Stealth B6 GT car, which won the Castle Combe GT Championship in 2000 and 2002 with its then owner Bob Light, is set return to Castle Combe for the 2004 season with its new local owner and driver.
Although Tetbury special vehicle design engineer David Krayem raced the car in UK and Europe in 2003, he is now concentrating on his sixth year in the local championship for which he will be the official sponsor of Class A.
The Stealth is sponsored by four local companies.
Its engine - thought to be the most powerful in UK club racing - is by ace competition engine builder Mike Connor, the precision machining is by South Cerney Engineering, aluminium tanks by Spec-R and Mobil 1 synthetic engine oil is supplied by Cotswold Chemicals.
Krayem, with the help of Tetbury father-and-son team Martyn and Ben Scrivens and Dean Longhurst, will carry out the car's preparation. And further backing may also allow the car to participate in other British GT Championships.
