Town ladies grab a point against Cam with a late goal

CIRENCESTER Ladies FC travelled to Cam on a cold and wet Sunday and grabbed a point on the final whistle with a 2-2 draw.

The visitors started brightly with Joey Clarkson holding the ball up well up front and Mandy Brown making some good runs down the right-hand side.

Although creating chances, they struggled to find the finishing touch.

Becky Brannan made a fine run but was unable to apply the final shot.

Cam always looked dangerous and went one up ten minutes from half-time.

The second half was pretty even with Cirencester's back three defending well.

Cam earned several corners and converted one from a good header. At 2-0 down, Cirencester fought back and Joey Clarkson hit a post.

Ten minutes from time, Cam gave away a free kick on the edge of the area which Joey Clarkson sweetly struck into the top, right-hand corner.

After this, Town threw everyone forward, but a penalty for handball wasn't given.

Lucie Vickers then made a dangerous runs down the left and had a good shot parried by the keeper parried.

But she earned her side a point by stabbing home the rebound. Lynne Bradbury-Frape was player of the match.

This Sunday, Cirencester are home to Bristol Congresbury, 2pm kick-off.
