Cirencester and District Football League round-up

CIRENCESTER and District Football League Division One front-runners Tetbury Town increased their lead to 12 points when beating Poulton 2-0 while nearest rivals Ashton Keynes and Taverners slipped to defeats against Bibury and Eastcombe respectively.

With Railway Inn, Bibury, South Cerney and Eastcombe all winning, only four points separates second and seventh place.

In Division 2, the top two met head to head at Purton with second placed Bibury Reserves winning an exciting match with a last-minute goal.

Bibury's win cuts the Purton lead to just three points with the two set to meet again at Bibury on January 3.

Lechlade stay third after a good win at Oakridge whilst Fairford A moved into contention with a 6-1 hammering of RDS Reserves.

This weekend sees the third round of the Mills Roberts Cup where three of the ties are between the top six in Division 1.
