Advent Market is Cirencester's biggest ever event

WITH an estimated 10,000 people, Friday's Advent Market celebrations were the biggest public event Cirencester has ever seen.

They were also a bit of a squeeze!

This week the Standard has pictures galore of the action - including lots of photographs of Liz Hurley, who turned on the town's Christmas lights, for those who missed her.

We also examine the issue of overcrowding, find out why it happened and report the organisers' proposals to ensure it doesn't happen again.

And we meet Cirencester's luckiest man - the farmer who stood in at the last minute for a flu-struck Santa Claus and ended up giving Liz Hurley a kiss... in front of the world's press!

Don't miss it all in Thursday's Standard.
