CIRENCESTER A netball team managed an overwhelming 46-24 win on Saturday against middle-of-the-table YMCA opposition.
The first quarter saw them starting well with great defending from Jackie Gabriel and Jenny Hulse, ensuring that the opposition remained out of their attacking circle.
The centre court players passed the ball with accuracy and speed and, at the end of the quarter, Town had pulled away to take a 13-8 lead.
The gap increased considerably in the second quarter with accurate, first-time shooting from Suzie Riley and Lisa Wooller who both had their eye in from the start.
In a change made by Cirences-ter at half-time, Lynn Bradfield came on in defence.
Lucia Grinrod, Anne Hacker and Sarah Evans battled in the centre court, ensuring that every ball was won.
And with excellent feeds into the attacking circle, the score at the end of the third quarter was 37-17 to Cirencester.
They continued confidently into the final quarter and, with the best teamwork seen this season, claimed their second win of the season.
In the end, Cirencester enjoyed a moral-boosting 46-24 win after a hard-fought game.
Town player of the match was awarded to Lisa Wooller, but the whole team had played the best netball so far this season.
