Staff at the 'Standard' are back ing Scott's bid in the FA Cup

CIRENCESTER Town may be out of the FA Cup, but the Standard is keeping the town's trophy hopes high.

Scott Bartlett, one of the Standard's advertising team, will captain Salisbury City against the might of Sheffield Wednesday in the first round of the FA Cup on Sunday.

And cheering him on will be a minibus full of Standard staff, who are making the four-hour trip north to show their support.

Field sales executive Scott, 24, who will lead his Dr Martens League Eastern Division side out against the Football League Division Two side, admits to nerves:

"As captain of Salisbury, I shall be leading out the team in front of a crowd of 20,000 spectators and that's an awesome prospect."

Editor Peter Davison said: "This is a tremendous opportunity for Scott and we all wish him the very best of luck.

"Without wanting to put too much pressure on him, I look forward to running a front page photograph of Scott holding aloft the FA Cup at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff after Salisbury's victory in the final!"
