Folk and World Music United in Cheltenham

CHELTENHAM music fans should get out their dancing shoes when e2K, the acclaimed folk/world music band, plays at the Town Hall on Saturday, November 8.

The concert, which is part of the band's current tour featuring material from the brand new album, If Not Now, will kick off at 8pm.

Renowned as one of the most exciting live bands in the UK, e2K fuses African rhythms, jazz grooves and British folk influences into a unique and bubbling mix.

"This is great music to dance to. We like to get crowds going and we're particularly looking forward to playing in Cheltenham. We always enjoy gigs in this area," said lead singer Kellie While.

As well as Kellie on vocals and guitars, the band features Ghanaian keyboard star Kwame Yeboah who also works extensively with Ms Dynamite and with Craig David.

The band's line-up includes celebrated jazz guitarist Jon Moore, as well melodeon, trumpet, saxophone, flute, percussion, bass guitar and drums players.

The eight-piece ensemble has been much feted in the music press and their new album is released on Topic Records (catalogue number TSCD538).

Tickets from the box office on 01242 227979.
