Foly Pleasant set to line up in the

TRAINER Henrietta Knight has revealed that Foly Pleasant is set to line up again for the £110,000 Paddy Power Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday, November 15.

The chaser has finished in the first four in each of the last two runnings, being the three-length runner-up to Shooting Light in 2001 and coming fourth to Cyfor Malta last season.

"I expect Foly Pleasant will run in the Paddy Power Gold Cup - he usually does!" said Henrietta.

Since lining up for the Paddy Power Gold Cup two years ago on his first visit to Prestbury Park, Foly Pleasant has competed a further six times at Cheltenham, winning the Ladbroke Trophy Handicap Chase in January 2002 and being in the frame on three other occasions.

These fine efforts mean that the nine-year-old is quite high in the weights and his trainer believes that it may require some respite from the handicapper before he can enter the winner's enclosure again.

A change in the weather would also help his chances. "Foly Pleasant likes a little bit of cut, but not too much. He likes Cheltenham and he likes going left-handed," said Henrietta.

The Paddy Power Gold Cup is the highlight of The Open 2003 which runs over three days at Cheltenham from Friday, November 14, to Sunday, November 16 inclusive.

There are discounts for racegoers up to November 7. Admission costs for the Saturday are Club £25 (£20 if booked by November 7), Tattersalls £18 (£15 is booked by November 7) and Courage Enclosure £7.

For the Friday and Sunday, admission costs are Club and Tattersalls combined £18 (£15 if booked in advance) Courage Enclosure £5. For tickets ring 01242 226226.
