Lucie, 14, scores four goals for Cirencester Ladies

AFTER the previous week's poor performance, Cirencester ladies got back to winning ways with a 6-1 home victory over local rivals Tetbury Town on Sunday.

With both Town strikers unavailable, 14-year-old Lucie Vickers partnered Leanne Crozier-Davis up front.

Cirencester started in strong manner with waves of attacks and this pressure paid off ten minutes into the game when Lucie Vickers cut inside to fire home to make 1-0.

Shortly after, Mandy Brown made it two with a fine lob from the edge of the box.

The hosts looked settled with the back three dealing with anything Tetbury threw forward and the midfield working hard, linking the defence with the attack.

From another telling cross, a hard working Mandy Brown headed home number three.

After a fine corner from Chrissy Dudman, Linda Weaven was unlucky with a powerful header.

After the break, Cirencester thought the job was done, allowing Tetbury back into the game by conceding a soft goal.

The goal seemed to kick-start the Corinium Stadium team who, after getting back into the game, began to dominate their opponents.

Unluckily for Kirsty Knowles, her attempt was just wide from good support play by the left-hand side pairing of Terry Alexander and Becky Brannan.

However, the final 15 minutes belonged to Lucie Vickers. First she cut in from the left and smashed home a fierce drive.

Minutes later, she mesmerised the Tetbury defence before curling in a right-foot shot.

And to seal her player of the game award, she ran through the heart of the visitors' defence to score a fourth quality goal.
